Box Score Nov. 8, 2011 – Linebacker 
Jamel Gray (Jacksonville, FL/Orange Park) of the Concordia University Chicago football team has been named the sport's Student-Athlete of the Week (defense) by the Northern Athletics Conference for the week of Oct. 31-Nov. 6.
           
Gray recorded two takeaways which led to 14 points in Concordia-Chicago's 31-14 win over Concordia University Wisconsin Nov. 5. He recovered a fumble in the first quarter which led to a short touchdown drive and a 10-7 lead for the Cougars. Of greater impact was an interception in the fourth quarter with the Falcons threatening to take the lead. Gray picked off the pass and returned it 86 yards down the left sideline to extend the Cougars' lead to 24-14.
           
Gray recorded four tackles in the game, two of which went for a combined minus-eight yards. He recorded the Cougars' lone sack of the game and now has three on the season. The freshman, who earned a starter's role in the third game of the season, now has 21 tackles (11 solo) on the year.
