Oct. 2, 2010 - The Cougar men's soccer team lost its fifth straight match this afternoon, falling to host Concordia University Wisconsin by a final score of 6-0.
The Falcons' defense controlled the play in the first half, but the Cougars hung tough in trailing by just two at the break. The home team got on the board just 4:27 into the game on Enrique Alvarado's goal and later made it 2-0 with a strike in the 24th minute.
The key stretch of the game came in the first seven minutes of the second half as Concordia Wisconsin doubled their lead with a pair of goals. They would wrap up their victory with two more goals in the final 11 miunutes.
Junior Kevin Hughes (Itasca, IL/Lake Park) made his third start of the season in goal and made six saves. The Cougars were held to three shots, two from Kyle Joss (St. Charles, IL/St. Charles North) and one by Rolando Zuniga (Melrose Park, IL/St. Joseph).
The Cougars (2-8-2, 0-3-1 NAC) will return home to host Rockford College on Wednesday afternoon.
