Skala continued his high run production of recent days by batting .500 (9-18) and driving in 16 runs over Concordia’s four games last week. The catcher batted in eight runs with two homers and a double as part of a 4-4 day in Concordia’s 15-4 win over Wheaton College April 20. He homered and doubled to knock in five runs in the Cougars’ 9-3 win over Dominican University in game one April 23. Through 27 games, Skala is batting .387 with team-leading totals of eight homers and 40 RBIs.

Skala, the son of Joe and Donna Skala, is a 2008 graduate of St. Viator High School in Arlington Heights, Ill. He is a junior physical education major.
