Sami DeFord (South Bend, Ind.) of the softball team is honored for the week of March 7-13.

DeFord earned one of the softball team’s two victories on their California trip and saved the second. In all, DeFord made six appearances (four starts) and hurled 25 innings. She recorded 14 strikeouts for the week with an ERA of 2.52.

DeFord, the daughter of Scott and Melanie DeFord, is a 2008 graduate of Marian High School in Mishiwaka, Ind. She is a secondary education/biology major.
