Eric Palmer (Melrose Park, IL) of the baseball team is honored for the week of May 4-10.
Palmer pitched the Cougars into the championship round of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference baseball tournament with an 8-0 win against Benedictine University on May 9. Palmer pitched eight shutout innings, allowing only a leadoff single in the second and an infield hit in the seventh. The righthander struck out two, walked two and faced just three batters over the minimum.
Palmer, the son of Joe and Laura Palmer, is a 2011 graduate of West Leyden High School in Northlake, IL. He is a junior criminal justice major.
