Alex Meyers (Edwardsville, IL) of the baseball team is honored for the week of March 9-15.

Meyers came to the Cougars’ rescue in a 13-6 win in 11 innings over Augsburg College on March 14. Entering the game in the bottom of the second, Meyers threw 118 pitches (67 for strikes) over 6 1/3 innings in just his second collegiate outing. He allowed four runs (two earned) on seven hits while fanning six.

Meyers, the son of Greg Meyers and Jami Zude, is a 2014 graduate of Edwardsville High School in Edwardsville, IL. He is a freshman elementary education major.
