Manny Valdez (Cicero, IL) of the men’s soccer team is honored for the week of Sept. 1-7.

Valdez scored his second and third goals of the season as the Cougar men’s soccer team improved to 2-0-0 with a 4-1 win over MacMurray College on Sept. 7. He opened the scoring in the sixth minute by one-timing a cross from the left side into the lower left corner of the net. Valdez then made it a 2-0 game in the 50^th minute, beating the goalkeeper with a sizzling shot from the right wing that caught the post and caromed into the goal.
           
Valdez is a 2011 graduate of St. Joseph High School in Westchester, IL. He is a senior business communications major.
