Khyree Copeland (Jacksonville, Fla.) of the football team is honored for the week of Oct. 18-24.

           

Copeland rushed for a school-record 333 yards on 28 carries in the Cougars' 48-7 win over Lakeland College Oct. 23. He surpassed his own record of 221 yards from last November and also set school records for rushing touchdowns in a season (12) and rushing yards in a season (1,100 with three games remaining). Copeland ran for touchdowns of 39 and 95 yards, the latter his final carry of the day early in the fourth quarter.

 

Copeland, the son of Alvin Copeland and Tina Turner, is a 2007 graduate of Potter’s House Academy in Duval County, Florida. He is a senior exercise science major.
