Christine Saucedo (Brookfield, IL) of the women’s soccer team is honored for the week of Sept. 23-29.

Saucedo was a top catalyst behind the Cougars’ 1-0 victory Sept. 28 over the Milwaukee School of Engineering. The central defender was cited by head coach Thomas Goines for her top play in leading the team’s third shutout win of the season. Saucedo performed very well in limiting the amount of chances for MSOE’s top scorer and also made what could have been a game-saving play when she tackled the ball away from an MSOE player who was one-on-one in the top of the box with the Cougars’ goalkeeper.

Saucedo, the daughter of Mario and Maria Saucedo, is a 2012 graduate of Lyons Township High School in LaGrange, Illinois. She is a sophomore pre-nursing major.
