Cassie Slechta (Berwyn, IL) of the softball team is honored for the week of March 12-18.

Slechta went 3-3 with three RBIs in helping the Cougar softball team to a 4-3 game one victory in game one of a March 17 doubleheader against Wheaton College. The Cougars’ catcher and team captain also drove in a run as part of a game two comeback from a 6-0 deficit. For the season, Slechta is hitting .318 over eight games with eight RBIs.

Slechta, the daughter of Dave and Kathi Slechta, is a 2008 graduate of Walther Lutheran High School in Melrose Park, She is a senior Lutheran secondary education/biology major.
