Christian Sorensen (Berwyn, Ill.) of the men’s cross-country team is honored for the week of Sept. 6-12.

           

Sorensen was the lead runner for the Cougar cross-country men for the second straight week. He ran a 27:41.3 in the 8K race at the Sept. 10 Aurora Invitational. Sorensen averaged 5:32 per mile, a seven-second improvement on his pace from the previous week when the team ran a 6K course.

           

Sorensen, the son of Robert and Maritza Sorensen, is a 2010 graduate of Walther Lutheran High School in Melrose Park, Ill. He is a freshman elementary education major.
