Tyrique joins the Concordia coaching staff immediately following his athletic career for the Cougars.
During his time as a member of the Concordia Track & Field team, Thomas set the school record in the 60-meter hurdles and was a part of two record-holding relay teams. He earned All-Conference honors on seven occasions and was served as a team captain for two seasons.
Originally from the Southside of Chicago, Thomas arrived to CUC in the fall of 2016 in pursuit of a degree in Business Management. He completed his undergrad with a 3.48 GPA, earning a spot on the schools Deans List. His performance in the classroom allowed Tyrique to become the first male Academic All-American in school history. He is currently purusuing his MBA.
Despite his commitment to athletic and academic achievement, Thomas was also heavily involved in the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), where he served as ambassador for the students of the athletic department within the CUC community, Executive Board Member responsible for overseeing the Cougar Cup Award as well as Chairman of the Mental Health Awarness committee.
Tyrique's dedication to being a well-rounded Student-Athlete earned him a spot in both the NCAA Division III Student Immersion Program in 2019 as well as the NCAA Career in Sports Forum in 2020.
