Chris Button 2024

Christopher Button

Christopher Button was appointed the fourth head coach in Concordia University Chicago men’s lacrosse history in September of 2023.

Button has experienced many coaching roles in lacrosse across the country. Most recently, he comes from Annapolis, Maryland, where he served as the Director of True Chesapeake. This was a high level lacrosse program with over 150 athletes to be managed during the year. He also served as a High School Recruiting Coordinator, Trainer, Travel Coordinator, and Equipment Manager while in Maryland.

He has also spent some time at a local Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) rival, Benedictine University. Button will be sure to know the opponents in the NACC, as he served as Head Coach of the Eagles for five years and Assistant Coach for two years prior to that. While with the Eagles, he had a 41-14 record and coached one All-American, four All-Region, two NACC Offensive Player of the Year, and 26 All-NACC honorees. In the 2021 season, Benedictine was named the Conference Regular Season and Tournament Champions, making their first ever trip to the NCAA Tournament. Additionally, Button was named NACC Coach of the Year for his incredible results on the field.

Other than his time in the collegiate coaching space, Button was the State Team Director for the True Lacrosse Club in Lombard, Illinois and the Box League Director and Youth Coach for the 3D New England Lacrosse Club in Boston, Massachusetts. Bringing experience from both the club and collegiate arenas will only assist Button in his already successful recruiting repertoire.

In addition to his time at Benedictine, Button served as the Assistant Men's Lacrosse Coach at Mount Ida College in Newton, Massachusetts and Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts. Clearly showing his diversification from east coast and midwest lacrosse.

Button graduated from LeMoyne College in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in Sociology/Elementary Education/Special Education K-5 Type. As an athlete at LeMoyne, Button was a four-year member of the Division II Men's Lacrosse Program. He ended as one of the top 10 goal scorers in program history and a two-time NorthEast Ten Conference Champion. In 2013, he was also a part of the NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse Championship Team.
