Malachi Allgood

Malachi Allgood was named the head coach of the Concordia University Chicago cross country program in August of 2022.  

Since returning to his alma mater, he has had one Cougar place just shy of the top-10 in the NACC Cross Country Championships. In addition, he has led his squad to the NCAA DIII Region Cross Country Championships where multiple Cougars competed.

As a track and field coach, he has had multiple long-distance runners pick up new personal records. So far in his time at CUC, he has coached 11 NACC All-Conference and one NACC Champion for the indoor season, 22 NACC All-Conference and five NACC Champions for the outdoor season, four USTFCCCA All-Region, and two USTFCCCA All-Americans.

Additionally, Allgood is a USATF Level Two Endurance Coach and has a USATF Cross Country Specialist Certificate.

Allgood returns to his alma matter after spending the last year as the Head Cross Country coach at Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois. While at Dominican, Allgood also was the Coordinator of Athletic Events & Student Workers. He helped to lead the Stars to many personal bests during his tenure.

Prior to Dominican, Allgood served as an assistant coach at Lake Forest College. Under his tutelage, Lake Forest had four All-Conference performers in 2019, including two top-5 finishers at the Midwest Conference Championships. He also oversaw the Lake Forest Track program, which had success on both the indoor and outdoor circuits.

Allgood participated in multiple events during his collegiate career at Concordia University Chicago, including the 400 hurdles, 800m, 4x400, and  javelin.

Allgood graduated from Concordia University Chicago in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in English. He currently lives with his wife, Chelsee and their dog, Howie, in Oak Park.
