Ella Cook Claims Solo Title as Cougars Take Second Place

River Forest, Ill. - The Concordia University Chicago Dance Team took the floor at the Winter Cougar Collegiate Dance Invite. The team picked up a pom score of 59.99, scoring 2nd place out of the seven teams.

Coach Dirvelys Allen noted, "Our Pom this year is pushing us to continue to grow, with a routine that is fast paced, difficult and intricate, the core of our recent work for competition season has been to build the best stamina possible, and we will continue to work our endurance for the greatest output on the floor."

Ella Cook (Cicero, N.Y.) placed 1st overall in solos, being commended immensely, "Ella is the definition of resilience, having had faced some personal adversity and coming back with strength, she's worked very hard to have this win. Her storytelling and detailed delivery were on full display today, she is a great technician with excellent difficulty in her choreography, her team is extremely proud of her hard work."

Amaya Moody (Berwyn, Ill.) was also mentioned for her amazing performance, "Amaya was beautiful in her solo, as a senior and captain she is truly the definition of heart. Her piece was emotive, meaningful and danced beautifully. Her team is unbelievably proud of her, she made us so proud today!"
