ELMHURST, Ill. - The Concordia University Chicago (CUC) men's track and field team headed to Elmhurst University for the Elmhurst Invitational. THe Cougars put in strong performances, some bronze medal performances.
Notable Performances
- In his first meet as a Cougar, Josiah Morris took third in the triple jump with a leap of 12.84m (42-1.50)
- Also taking bronze was Dayton Merli (Union Mills, Ind.). He recorded a mark of 3.77m (12-4.50) in the pole vault, which is also an outdoor PR.
- In the high jump, Darius Strother (Joliet, Ill.) finished seventh, with a leap of 1.76m (5-9.25).
- Taking 10th with a mark of 12.88m (42-3.25) was Brandon Montford (Fairburn, Ga.) in the shot put.
Cougar Personal Records
- Wykhir Jones (Milwaukee, Wis.) set a personal best mark of 11.41m (37-5.25) in the shot put.
- Elias Likens (Richland, Mich.) threw for a mark of 33.77m (110-09) in the discus throw.
- In the 1500m, Kam Jackson (Chicago, Ill.) set a personal best time of 4:54.94.
- Alfredo Jaramillo-Ruiz (Lyons, Ill.) set a PR of 2:38.10 in the 800m.
- In the 100m, Kyle Knutsen (Sterling, Ill.) set a personal best time of 11.93.
