MILWAUKEE, WIS. – For their final competition of the regular season, the Concordia University Chicago dance team headed to Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) where they competed in the MSOE Midwest Invite.
Contrary to the previous two competitions this season, the Cougars only competed in the Pom category, where they fell short in placing top three. The Cougars had strong execution of their routine with scores of 75.4, 76.0, and 74.8. The team picked up strongest scores in execution, specifically visualization coordination and cohesiveness which highlights their synchronization as a strong point in the performance.
Ella Cook (Cicero, N.Y.) was the lone soloist to place and secured her spot as an invite All-Star. Aside from Cook,
Natalie Gallardo (Berwyn, Ill.) and
Giselle Espinoza Carrera (Cicero, Ill.) also performed, but fell just short in placing.
"We're focused on nationals and look to bring the best Pom and Team Performances to the national floor," Head Coach Dee Allen noted on the team's last competition before heading down to Florida for the NDA College Dance Nationals.
The preliminary round of nationals is set for April 10
th, where the Cougars will compete in both Pom and Team Performances, as they did at last year's national competition. Coverage and updates can be found at cucougars.com/coverage.
