RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The Concordia University Chicago (CUC) dance team hosted its second invitational this afternoon, the Cougar Spring Collegiate Invite. Multiple schools came out to Geiseman Gymnasium to compete including, North Central College, Trinity Christian College, Aurora University, Concordia University Wisconsin, North Park University, and Elmhurst University.

The Cougars put their best foot forward and were named the overall champion, with a score of 63.35. CUC swept the competition in both team categories it competed in. In the Poms category, the Cougars defeated all six other teams, taking first with a score of 63.9. In the Team Performance category, CUC rose to the top with 66.8 points. In the solo division, senior
Giselle Espinoza Carrera (Cicero, Ill.) finished eighth with a score of 53.77.

Before today's competition, the Cougars recognized their seniors, Espinoza,
Natalie Gallardo, and
Fatima Martinez (St. Clairs Shores, Mich.).

The Cougars' next competition will be Sunday March 30. The team will travel to Milwaukee, Wis. to compete at the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) Midwest Invite. Coverage can be found at cucougars.com/coverage.
