RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Spring break has come to an end for Concordia University Chicago (CUC), which means students are back and more competitions are on the horizon.

Men's Volleyball (6-12, 1-4)
CUC men's volleyball competed in one match over spring break, taking on Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference (NACC) opponent, Edgewood College.
The Cougars came back to win the third set, but unfortunately fell to the Eagles, 3-1.
Tristan Caminar (Bolingbrook, Ill.) led the squad with seven kills while
Elijah Mosher (Clayton, Ohio) and
Marcin Hoffman (Inverness, Ill.) each tallied six. Mosher also registered 33 assists.
This week the Cougars have two NACC matches. They play Aurora University on Tuesday March 11, at 7:00 pm and then St. Norbert College on Saturday March 15, at 1:00 pm.

Baseball (6-5, 0-0)
The Cougars finished out their spring break trip.
On March 3, CUC took on Mount St. Joseph University. It was a tight game, but the Cougars came out on the backfoot, 13-11.

Michael KasikÂ
(Chandler, Ariz.)Â both went three-for-five at the plate while both collecting two runs.
On March 4, the Cougars fell just short 9-8, against Chatham University. Kasik went three-for-four at the plate, with two homeruns and two RBIs.
Brandon MahlerÂ
(Vernon Hills, Ill.) went two-for-three from the plate, hitting a solo homerun and a double.
Concordia went back to winning ways on March 6, defeating Saint Mary's University (Minn.), 4-2.
Tyler DorschÂ
(Phoenix, Ariz.)Â was perfect at the plate, going two-for-two, with two walks and one RBI.
Dylan ScottÂ
(Bartlett, Ill.)Â picked up his first win of the season throwing six innings, recording four strikeouts in his 25 batters faced, and only allowing one run.
The win streak continued to the end of the trip, as the Cougars picked up victories against Wartburg College, 7-3, on March 7, and the College of St. Scholastica (CSS), 5-4, on March 8. Against Wartburg, Kasik went two-for-five with one run and two RBIs. Against the Saints,
Ryan RenellaÂ
(Bartlett, Ill.)Â pitched seven innings, throwing 88 pitches for a career-high seven strikeouts while
Xavier ZagermanÂ
(Chandler, Ariz.)Â had the hit of the game with a two-run double into left center to put the Cougars ahead 5-4 in the top of the ninth.
The Cougars step right back into competition on Wednesday March 12. They will face Elmhurst University on the road, at 3:00 pm.

Softball (4-4, 0-0)
The CUC softball team also competed in Florida over spring break.
On March 3, CUC split the day, falling 4-1 to Rose-Hulman and the winning 11-5 against Mount Mary University. In game one against the Fighting Engineers,
Melisa Hadzic (Westchester, Ill.) led the squad with two hits and an RBI. In game two of the day,
Jessica Geng (Phoenix, Ariz.) went four-for-five from the plate with four RBIs while Hadzic went three-for-five with three RBIs.]
On March 4, Concordia first played Rose-Hulman again and fell 6-4.
Jolene Anderson (Romeoville, Ill.) was the lone Cougar with more than two hits where she went two-for-three. However, the Cougars came back in game two of the day, winning 9-1 against Houghton University.
McKyler Morris (Belvidere, Ill.) went three-for-four at the plate and two RBIs while
Esmeralda Luevano (Chicago, Ill.) went two-for-two with two RBIs.
The Cougars started off day three of competition strong, defeating Concordia College (Minn.), 2-0, on March 6.
Ashley Shroll (Tampa, Fla.) pitched all seven innings at the mound where she pitched a no-hitter, the first of the season.
Kallie Tierney (Corona, Calif.) went a perfect three-for-three at bats, where one of her hits was a double. In game two of the day, CUC fell to John Carroll University, 6-2.
Mayah Larenas (Chino, Calif.) went three-for-three from the plate while
Emily Garcia (Eastvale, Calif.) and Geng were the lone Cougars to reach home.
On the final day, March 7, the Cougars started off the day with a 6-0 victory over Rivier University.
Mayah Larenas (Chino, Calif.) went three-for-four at the plate as well as added an RBI. CUC ended the week with a 13-0 loss to Misericordia University. The squad's three hits came from
Julia Pataluna (Commerce City, Colo.),
Arissa Santos (Moreno Valley, Calif.), and Larenas.
Now back in River Forest, the Cougars' next game will be Tuesday, March 18. CUC will host Wheaton College for a double header with game one starting at 2:30 pm.
Esports
The Cougars will play Carlow University Black on Friday, March 14.

STUNT
The CUC STUNT team returns to competition this weekend. On Friday, March 14, the Cougars will face Purdue University Northwest in Hammond, Ind. at 6:00 pm. Then on Saturday, March 15, they will play Quincy University at noon and Missouri Baptist University at 2:45 pm in St. Louis, Mo.

DANCE
The CUC Dance team will host the Cougar Spring Collegiate Dance Invite on Sunday March 16.
