BOURBONNAIS, ILL.- The Concordia University Chicago (CUC) men's track and field began the 2025-2026 indoor season at Olivet Nazarene University, racing in the ONU Holiday Open. It was a great start to the season with many finishing top ten performances and personal bests.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
- In his collegiate debut, Jonathan Knoebel (New Albany, Ind.) broke the school record and took fourth in the 600m with a time of 1:25.38.
- Two Cougars finished top five of the one mile run, Gael Arroyo (Cicero, Ill.) finished third with a new personal best of 4:41.93 and Dominic Carlson (Loves Park, Ill.) followed in fourth with a time of 4:42.07.
- Austin Knight (Forest Park, Ill.) ran a time of 22.95 in the 200m dash to finish third.
- Jordyn Boatman (Elmwood Park, Ill.) jumped 6.41m, finishing fourth for long jump. Right behind him, Julian Switzer (Lakes in the Hills, Ill.) finished fifth with a leap of 6.33m.
- In the 3000m, William Leonard (Oskaloosa, Iowa) finished fifth with a time of 10:10.72.
- Darius Strother (Joliet, Ill.) finished fourth in the high jump with a mark of 1.67m.
COUGARS PERSONAL RECORDS
- Matthew Cardwell (Cincinnati, Ohio) set a personal best in the 60mH with a time of 9.52, finishing eighth.
- In the 60m dash, Switzer finished sixth with a new personal best of 7.16.
- Knight set a personal best time of 7.16 in the 60m dash prelims, followed by an eighth-place finish in the finals.
- Jamel Goins (Columbus, Ohio) and Cameron Mitchell (Racine, Wis.) set new personal bests with times of 23.97 and 26.01 in the 200m.
