NAPERVILLE, ILL. – For the second consecutive week, the Concordia University Chicago traveled to North Central College to compete as the team finished in twelfth place. Despite their twelfth place finish, numerous Cougars had standout days including a handful of top ten finishers and a long list of personal records.
TOP COUGAR PERFORMANCES
- Austin Knight (Forest Park, Ill.) finished first of all Cougars on the day with a seventh place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.85m. Additionally, Knight placed 11th in the 200m finals with a time of 23.30.
- Miguel Sanchez (San Antonio, Texas) finished next highest on the day with an eighth place finish in the 400m.
- Dayton Merli (Union Mills, Ind.) followed closely behind with a ninth place finish in the pole vault with a mark of 3.60m, converting to 11' 9.75".
PERSONAL RECORDS
- In addition to his ninth place finish in the pole vault, Merli picked up a PR in the 200m with a time of 26.58.
- Julian Switzer (Lake in the Hills, Ill.) ran the 60m for the first time as a Cougar and picked up a PR with a time of 7.34.
- Kyle Knutsen (Sterling, Ill.) earned a new PR in the 400m with a time of 57.71.
- Matthew Cardwell (Cincinnati, Ohio) picked up a PR in the 60m hurdles with a time of 10.08.
- Darius Strother (Joliet, Ill.) earned a PR in the 200m with a time of 25.75, shaving two tenths of a second off his previous best.
- Cameron Mitchell (Racine, Wis.) picked up a new PR in the 800m with a time of 2:16.20, shaving more than four seconds off his previous time.
- Nathaniel Boksa (Norridge, Ill.) ran the 3000m for the first time as a Cougar and set his PR time at 10:22.49.
- Donovan Depakakibo (Norridge, Ill.) also ran the 3000m for the first time as a Cougar and set his PR time at 10:28.27.
- CJ Morris (Douglasville, Ga.) threw in the weight throw for the first time as a Cougar and set a PR with a distance of 10.73m.
- Wykhir Jones (Milwaukee, Wis.) set new PRs in both the shot put and weight throw with distances of 10.57m and 9.32m, respectively.
- Eli Likens (Richland, Mich.) collected a new PR in the shot put with a distance of 10.49m, besting his previous PR by nearly eight inches.
- Travon Thomas (Wauchula, Fla.) bested his previous PR in the weight throw by more than a foot, setting his new benchmark at 10.71m.
