MILWAUKEE, WIS. --- To finish off the regular season for the Concordia University Chicago (CUC) track and field team, the squad made their way to Wisconsin for the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Outdoor Championships. Overall, multiple Cougars broke school records, earned gold medals, and made a huge splash in the standings.
Notable Cougar Performances
- Austin Knight (Forest Park, Ill.) took home gold in the 200-meter finals with a time of 22.09 seconds, just barely .5 seconds short of the school record
- On the topic of school records, the gold medal 4x400 relay team of Knight, Matthew Cardwell (Cincinnati, Ohio), Vincent Scarnato (Pottstown, Pa.), and Miguel Sanchez (San Antonio, Texas) broke the school record with a new time of 3:20.17
- The 4x100 relay team of Scarnato, Knight, Sanchez, and Henry Jones IV (Atlanta, Ga.) also earned an All-Conference finish of 42.99 seconds
- Rounding out the All-Conference accolades was Jayden Taylor (Southfield, Mich.) in long jump with a fifth place finish and a new PR of 6.33 meters
Cougar Personal Records
- Taylor also snagged a new time in the 200-meter at 23.83 seconds. Also earning PR's in the 200-meter was Jones at 22.42 seconds and Xzavier Roman (Knox, Ind.) at 23.39 seconds.
- Adrian Mendez (Plano, Ill.) had a new time in the 400-meter with a mark of 53.19 seconds
- Freshman Donovan Depakakibo (Norridge, Ill.) picked up a new PR in the 800-meter with a time of 2:07.32
- Joining him in this regard was Gus Strenge (Battle Creek, MI), with a new 800-meter time of 2:17.47, along with a PR in the 1500-meter at 4:44.49
- In throws, Travon Thomas logged a new PR in discus with a mark of 33.13 meters
