MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Chicago (CUC) men's basketball team resumed Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference (NACC) play this afternoon with a trip to Mequon, Wis., facing Concordia University Wisconsin. CUC fought to the end, keeping the game tight in the second half, but ultimately fell 114-95. The Cougars are now 4-6, 2-3 NACC.

- Jacob Collicott (Lafayette, Ind.) led the team with a double-double, knocking in 25 points and grabbing 11 boards.
- Collicott was perfect from the line, going 16-for-16 for the second time this season.
- AJ Willard (Germantown, Wis.) had a day, scoring a career-high 22 points, shooting 75% from beyond the arc.
- Joel Watts (Homewood, Ill.) led the team with six assists.
- Honore Yangoua (Williamstown, Ky.) scored a season-high seven points.
- The Cougars shot 81% from the free throw line, going 34-for-42.

How it Happened
First Half
After going down 9-4 early, Collicott went on a solo 7-0 run to put the Cougars in the lead, 11-9.

Sean Beckman (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) helped the Cougars keep the lead before the Falcons went on a strong run to build a 28-14 lead over CUC. However, the Cougars made the Falcons pay when they stopped the run, with back-to-back buckets. Collicott knocked in his layup and Willard put the pressure on Concordia Wisconsin under the basket and got the steal and the layup.

Watts was able to bring the deficit back down to single digits, as well as Yangoua and Willard, but the Falcons found a push for a 13-1 run near the end of the half, and kept a healthy lead, 63-42 going into the break.

Second Half
Watts got the second half started with the first four points for the Cougars.
Darrian Williams (Garland, Texas) added a layup and Beckman sunk a three, adding to the 9-4 opening run, but CUW answered right back with nine unanswered points.

With just over 12 minutes to play, the Cougars began to rally and chip away at the 28-point gap, 83-55. Five Cougars, Precision from Watts and Collicott from the line, plus sharp shooting from Willard, Williams, and
Aaron Brown (Joliet, Ill.) saw CUC close the gap to 14 points, 89-75.

Unfortunately, the Falcons were able to keep a double digit lead to the end of the game and take the game from the Cougars, 114-95.
