MILWAUKEE, WIS. — Trying to continue their win streak, the Concordia University Chicago (CUC) men's basketball team took on an Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) opponent in the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE). While the Raiders took a handle on the first half, the Cougars upped their energy in the second half to make this an exciting night of play. CUC would fall just short to MSOE with a final score of 86-75.

Jordan Matthews (Chicago, Ill.) finished tonight as one of three Cougars to score more than 10 points. With his 11 points recorded, Matthews officially crosses the 1,000 career point mark in his time as a Cougar.

Leading on the night was Sean Beckman (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) with 15 points.

Right behind him was Jacob Collicott (Lafayette, Ind.) with 12 points, along with two steals, one assist, and five rebounds.
First Half
The Cougars and Raiders would start this game off by trading points back and forth. Emanuel Wilson (Wheaton, Ill.) and Collicott would be the first Cougars to score, followed by some drawn fouls to bring a tie game of 11-11. Beckman would grab two three pointers before MSOE would run ahead at 18-14.
Darrian Williams (Garland, Texas) would begin to chip away at the Raiders lead with a layup and three pointer at 24-19 MSOE. Matthews would drive into the lane for some more points, followed up by a Collicott jumper, but the Raiders continued to tack on points. With MSOE ahead 33-28, Will Wainscott (Oswego, Ill.) would grab a three and bring CUC within five of their NACC opponent.
Beckman and Collicott teamed up towards the end of the first half to try and get something rolling for the Cougars. However, they would not take the lead just yet and head into halftime behind 44-36.
Second Half
It was three-point city to start the second half, with Brent Hatten (Olney, Ill.) and Collicott scoring at 46-42 MSOE. Wilson drove through the Raiders, then a Beckman jumper and Justin Greenlee (Brown Deer, Wis.) drive would cut the Raider lead to 52-51.
Matthews would stay in his bag and shoot one in from beyond the arc to make it 55-54 MSOE. William Bishop-Green (Chicago, Ill.) would be the one to bring CUC out in front for the first time with an and-one shot to make it 59-57. Then, Bishop-Green would sink a three to pull away even more at 62-58.
The Raiders would go on a rally to take the lead back at 68-62. Matthews and Hatten would score layups of their own, along with a Greenlee jumper to try and take the game back, but they would fall short. After drawing some additional fouls to try and turn the tide, the Cougars would lose to the Raiders with a final score of 86-75.
