Women's Track Competes at Aurora

Aurora, Ill. -- With another exciting weekend of competition behind them, the women's track and field team had an exciting day of events.

Simone Wilson (Minneapolis, Minn.) continued to dominate her events, taking first in the 400 meter and second in the 200 meter. Angelina Nichols (Chicago, Ill.) placed second in the 800 meter, with her best time of the season coming in at 2:27.20. 

Coming off a successful competition last week, along with gaining NACC athlete of the week recognition, junior Zahra Sammour (Berwyn, Ill.) placed second in long jump with a distance of 5.34 meters and eighth in the triple jump with a distance of 9.98 meters. 

On the throwing side, Claire Urchell (Crown Point, Ind.) had a successful day, placing tenth in the weight throw with a distance of 13.27 meters while Madeline Bobinski (Des Plaines, Ill.) finished fifth with a distance of 12.44 meters. 

This team will be back in action next Saturday at the Windy City Rumble hosted by the University of Chicago.
