RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- After a non-conference matchup earlier this week, the Concordia-Chicago men's basketball team will return to the floor tomorrow afternoon to take on the Rockford Regents.
With the weekend tilt, CUC returns to Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play for the first time since Monday, Dec. 16. Tip off is scheduled for 2 p.m. with live coverage available at
cucougars.com/coverage and

Last Time Out... In their penultimate non-conference contest, before CIT, the Cougars took on the Thunder of Trine University this past Monday. With seven minutes to go in the first half, CUC trailed Trine by just six points, until the Thunder went on a 12-point run to establish a lead that the Cougars never came back from. Despite the loss, senior
Raushaun Amos had a career-best night with the team-high 21 points and eight rebounds.
Roll Regents... Similar to CUC, Rockford is 3-2 through the first quarter of NACC play. Coming off a big road win over North Park last week, the red-hot Regents scored a season-best 14 three-pointers in the victory. Junior Nathaniel Shead leads the surge, as he averages 15.6 points per game and is shooting 87.5 percent from the charity stripe. Fellow Regent Brandon Emerick is also a key piece to the team's puzzle, with his 14.8 points per game and 4.2 assists per game averages.
There's History... In the last 10 match ups between Rockford and CUC, the Regents have outbid the Cougars 8-2. Most recently, Concordia-Chicago took down Rockford inside Geiseman Gymnasium on Nov. 15, 2018, by way of 86-79. In their last meeting, the Regents just escaped the Cougars, with a 104-102, overtime victory. CUC is 3-8 when facing Rockford on their home court, dating back to 2007, and average 77.4 points per game against the Regents.
Note of the Day... With a win over the Regents tomorrow, the Cougars would win three-straight conference matchups for the first time since the 2011-12 season. From February 4 to Feb. 14, 2011, CUC went on a four-game, NACC win streak with victories over then conference opponent Maranatha Baptist, as well as Aurora, MSOE and Rockford.
