Cougars Come Up Just Short In CIT Opening Round

RIVER FOREST, ILL. – In front of a sellout crowd inside Geiseman Gymnasium, the Concordia University Chicago Women's Basketball team took on the rival falcons of Concordia University Wisconsin. In a low scoring defensive affair, it would be the Falcons who would come up victorious 48-46 as the Cougar shot to win it at the buzzer rimmed out.
 
TURNING POINT
  • CUW built their lead to as many as seven in the fourth quarter. The Cougars battled back, and would come up just short as a potential game winning three at the buzzer rimmed out.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Charisma Robinson had her best night as a Cougar. She recorded her first career double-double, finishing with 16 points on 7-17 shooting and ten rebounds. Both were season highs.
  • Michaela Thornton pulled down seven rebounds, five blocks and four assists.
  • CUC held CUW to a season low 12-51 shooting from the floor.
  • Nearly half (21) of CUW's points came from the free-throw line.
