Jan. 18, 2020 - The Concordia-Chicago men's basketball team looked to start a new winning streak today as they traveled to the South Side of Chicago. Their opposition was the Illinois Institute of Technology, now in their second year as a conference member. The Cougars held an early lead, but a combination of cold shooting, too many turnovers, and solid shooting by the home team added up to a 92-56 win for Illinois Tech. The Cougars fell to 6-8, 5-5 NACC.
TURNING POINT:
- A 22-2 run by the Scarlet Hawks turned a 13-9 Cougars' lead into a 31-16 deficit, and IIT would hold the lead for good.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Landen Gladney made his first start since Dec. 16 and led the Cougars with 12 points
- Raushaun Amos wsa the only other CUC player in double figures with 10 points.
- The Cougars scored a season low in points today with 56. They managed just eight three-pointers on 21 attempts.
- IITÂ committed just nine turnovers, while the Cougars were guilty of 23.
- Miles Curry led four IIT players in double figures with 25 points, while Max Hisatake had 16 points and 15 rebounds.
