Scarlet Hawks On Tap for Men's Basketball

RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- The Concordia-Chicago men's basketball program will look to get back to their winning ways this weekend, as the Cougars will travel to Illinois Tech tomorrow afternoon for a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match up.

Tip off is slated for 2 p.m., with complete coverage available at cucougars.com/coverage and @cuc_menhoops on Twitter.

What You Missed... CUC returns to NACC play tomorrow afternoon after ending their three-game win streak earlier this week. The Cougars had been on a tear, defeating Aurora, Maranatha Baptist and Dominican in consecutive outings, before meeting their match in Concordia Wisconsin on Tuesday night. Against the Falcons, Concordia-Chicago hit 12 three-pointers, but ultimately fell 83-67, after a second-half stutter. Prior to the loss to CUW, the Cougars had hit 48 three-pointers in three games, and broke the Concordia-Chicago school and NACC conference records for most three's made in a single game, by draining 21 three-pointers in a 102-74 victory over Maranatha Baptist.

Guess Who's Back... Sophomore Landen Gladney returned to the floor for the first time in 2020 on Tuesday, after missing five games due to injury. The Chicago native scored 11 points in just 15 minutes during his return against CUW and will look to pick up where he left off with 23 career double-doubles. Through the first 32 games of his career, Gladney has 558 career points and 368 rebounds.

Shoot Your Shot... CUC has had the hot hand recently, as the Cougars are leading the NACC with shooting 38.9 percent from beyond the arc and averaging 10.9 made three-pointers per game. Dating back to Dec. 7, against Wisconsin Lutheran College, CUC has scored 10 or more three pointers in each of their last eight games, and picked up five wins during that span. Izak Ruddell leads the Cougars' three-point brigade, as he has shot 57.1 percent from range this season, which also leads the NACC. Brent Hatten, Charlie Reznikoff and Raushaun Amos are also critical parts of CUC's shooting successes, as the trio combines for 81-of-201 (40.3%) from behind the three-point line.

About the Scarlet Hawks... Illinois Tech is 5-9 overall this season and 3-6 in their conference ledger. While the Scarlet Hawks have picked up impressive wins over CUW and Lakeland already, they've also dropped contests to Aurora, Marian and Dominican, where the Cougars were able to handedly defeat the latter. Highlighting IIT's roster is senior Max Hisatake, who recently landed a spot on D3Hoops.com's National Team of the Week. The center is averaging a double-double on the season, with an impressive 17.9 points per game and 12.6 rebounds per game average. As a team, the Scarlet Hawks average 65.6 points per game, while grabbing 36.9 rebounds per game.
