River Forest, Ill.- Concordia University Chicago (4-10; 2-7 MLC) faced off against Benedictine University (9-4; 7-2 MLC) in their second to last home game of the season. The Eagles came into the match sporting the highest scoring offense in D3. Benedictine's offense proved to be too much for the CUC defense. The Cougars would muster up seven goals but would lose by the final score of 21-7.
Inside the Box Score:
• Six of CUC's seven goals came unassisted, with the lone assist coming from
Tate Macfarlane.

Brett Krueger led the way with three goals followed by
Boston Dumas (2).
• Bransen Bonnel hustled his way to eight ground balls followed by Macfarlane (5), and Dumas (5).
Benedictine showed a flash of their high-powered offense and started the game up 3-0. Krueger would stop the run after dodging through the Eagles defense, beating the goalie for an unassisted goal. Krueger's goal would be the only one in the first quarter for the Cougars and they would go into the break down 4-1.
Mateo Saputo dove in front of the goal and fired one around the defenders to start the scoring off in the second quarter. BU answered back quickly three times in a matter of minutes to push their lead to 7-2. Going into the half Benedictine would score six more times and lead 13-2.
Coming out of halftime the Eagles scored another goal to make the score 14-2. Shortly after the goal, Dumas scored one for himself. He avoided two defenders and shot from ten feet out to shrink the lead to 14-3. CUC would score back-to-back goals for the first time of the match when Macfarlane scored the Cougars fourth unassisted goal. From there the Eagles would score the last two goals of the third quarter. Going into the final quarter of play CUC trailed 18-4.
Concordia-Chicago struck first to open the quarter again after another Dumas goal. This marked the fifth unassisted goal for CUC and slightly cut the deficit to 18-5. Following more Benedictine scoring, Krueger slid right down the middle of the field and netted his second goal to make it 21-6. One more goal would be scored for Concordia-Chicago but that would conclude the scoring efforts. The final score would end at 21-7.
Concordia-Chicago will be back in action on Saturday, April 27th, against North Central University (MN) for their last game of the regular season. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
