RIPON, Wis. -- With a day full of personal records from all across the Concordia-Chicago women's track and field team, the Cougars finished in fourth place overall with a score of 79.5
CUC's weight throwing athletes set the bar high for the day, as
Cassandra Garza and
Kimberlyn Gadawski finished in third and fourth respectively in the finals, with marks of 14.63 m and 14.18 m. Down the line,
Jessica Wilson placed in eighth, while
Allison Kemp,
Kelsey Woods and
Anna Sielaff took 11th-13th. Kemp and Sielaff reached new heights in their careers, reaching personal records of 12.18 m and 11.56 m. Freshman Rebecca Degregorio also tallied a career-high reaching a mark of 10.07 m.
Simone Wilson came up with a second place finish in the 60 meter hurdles, capping off a time of 9.68 seconds. Earlier in the day, Wilson also finished second in the preliminaries, while beating her previous school record in 9.29 seconds.
Through the women's triple jump,
Dejah Sartin came in second place reaching a career-best 10.39 meters, while
Kayla Armstrong continues to be steady for the Cougars, coming in second place as well with a 8.14-second finish in the 60 meter dash.
Rookie
Molly Cullinane had a strong showing in the 5000 meter, crossing the finish line third in 19:29:65 for a lifetime best performance.
Olivia Carone also came up with a third place finish in the pole vault, reaching a mark of 2.70 m.Â
The Cougars will return to action next weekend for their last regular meet of the indoor season at University of Chicago for the Margaret Bradley Invitational.Â
