Cougars Come Home to Face WLC

RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- After opening up the season with five straight road games, the Cougars will finally return home to Geiseman Gymnasium for game number six against Wisconsin Lutheran College tomorrow afternoon.

Tip off is slated for 2 p.m. with complete coverage available at cucougars.com/coverage and @cuc_menhoops on Twitter. CJ Selner and Carter Gledhill will have the call on the Cougar Sports Network.

Last Time Out... CUC last took to the court for a midweek matchup against Lakeland University on Wednesday, Dec. 4. The Muskies pulled out the 89-76 victory, despite leading by just two points at the half. Sophomore Landen Gladney recorded his 22nd career double-double, and first of the 2019-20 season, with 15 points and 13 rebounds.

Rookie Ranks... Concordia-Chicago's Brent Hatten continues to impress this season, as the rookie has scored in double-digits through the first five games of his collegiate career and currently averages 14.8 points per game. As a 55.1 percent shooter from the floor, Hatten is eighth among NACC players and currently leads the NACC in three-point percentage, with over 10 attempts, shooting 53.8 percent from beyond the arc. With his 60 percent shooting from three, the Illinois native also ranks 16th across all of Division III men's basketball in three-point field-goal percentage.

Scouting the Warriors... WLC is 4-2 to open up the season and remains undefeated in NACC play. Averaging 91.0 points per game, the Warriors are led by Andrew Bruggink, as the guard averages 25.0 points per game and is shooting 52.8 percent from the field. With convincing conference wins over Concordia Wisconsin and MSOE, WLC is currently in second place among the NACC standings.

The Series... CUC is 8-16 against the Warriors dating back to Dec. 9, 2006 with the Cougars winning the last matchup between the two teams, trouncing WLC 101-86 inside Geiseman Gymnasium. Landen Gladney had a monstrous night with 28 points and 14 rebounds in the victory.

A Win Would... With a win tomorrow, it would mark the second consecutive season that the Cougars secure a home opener win. A victory would also be the first time the Cougars won back-to-back home openers in this decade and improve CUC to 4-10 in home openers, dating back to 2006.
