Men's Basketball's Turn at River Forest Rival

RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- Concordia-Chicago welcomes NACC opponent and River Forest rival Dominican University to its home court for the team's first home contest since Dec. 5, 2018.

Scouting the Stars... The Stars are just two spots ahead of the Cougars in the NACC standings, sitting in 10th place with a 2-9 overall record and 2-4 stature in conference play. Dominican's most notable win comes against Wisconsin Lutheran, when the Stars defeated the Warriors 93-80. A week before the Stars' big victory, CUC lost 108-97 to that same WLC squad.

Series Stackup... CUC beat Dominican in the last matchup between the two foes, by way of 77-63. Jalen Meeks and Mitch Pelissier, CUC's two current leading scorers, led the game with 22 and 20 points, respectively. During the last five seasons, the Cougars lead the series 6-4. 

Pelissier's Point... Senior guard Mitch Pelissier has left his mark on the CUC basketball program, as he currently ranks fifth on the all-time scoring list with 1,515 career points. During his last three games, he has scored 26 points or more and has combined for 79 points. Averaging 21.5 points per game, he is currently second among the NACC and ranks 40th nationally among Division III basketball.

Aren't You Glad?... Through just 11 collegiate basketball games, Chicago native and freshman Landen Gladney has made his presence known across the NCAA. With 11 games under his belt, he has recorded double-digit rebounds in all 11 games and has 10 double-doubles on the season. Gladney is ranked second in the nation for total double-doubles and seventh for rebounds per game (12.7). He is also 10th in the country with 140 total boards.
