CUC Kicks Off Second Half at Aurora

RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- Opening up 2019, the Concordia-Chicago men's basketball team will hit the road for its fifth straight away game tonight at Aurora University.

About the Spartans... With a 4-7 overall record, Aurora is just 2-4 in conference, similar to the Cougars' 2-5 stature, and rank third in the conference per scoring offense with an 82.5 points per game average. Junior Bailey Vance is the Spartan leader, averaging 13.8 points per game and is shooting 53.8 percent from beyond the arc. He is also the team's leading rebounder, averaging 6.8 per game. 
 
Tale of the Tape... While Aurora ranks third in the NACC in scoring offenses (82.5 ppg), CUC holds the upper hand as the top team in the conference, averaging 87.9 per game. The Spartans average 30.5 boards per game, opposed to CUC's 40.5. Shooting 40.3 percent from the three-point line, Aurora is superior to the Cougars' 34.6 three-point field goal shooting percentage. 

Pelissier's Pike... After dropping 53 points during a two-game span in Washington state, senior Cougar Mitch Pelissier stands as the leading scorer in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference, averaging 21.0 points per game and runs the Cougar offense, with 46 total assists on the year. Nationally, Pelissier ranks 52nd in points per game. In his tenure, the senior has 1,489 career points which is good for fifth all-time in Concordia-Chicago history.  

Strong and Steady... First year athlete and Chicago native Landen Gladney has had an electric start to his Concordia-Chicago career. In 10 games, Gladney has tallied nine double-doubles and reached double-digit rebounds in all 10 games. He ranks third in the country for most double-doubles on the season as well as sixth in rebounds per game (12.9).
