Scouting the Scarlet Hawks... Illinois Tech sits high atop the NACC standings, with just three conference losses to Aurora, MSOE and Concordia Wisconsin. Scarlet Hawk Jake Digiorgio ranks first in the NACC in rebounds per game, averaging 13.3. Two-time NACC Player of the Week Anthony Mosley Jr. also leads IIT, shooting 39 percent from beyond the arc.
Series Stackup... New to the conference, IIT will take on Concordia-Chicago for the first time since November of 2004, with the Cougars winning 67-53. A key match up to keep an eye on will be in the post with Landen Gladney taking on Jake Digiorgio. Gladney ranks just behind Digiorgio in the NACC with 12.5 rebounds per game.
Pelissier's Point... Reigning NACC Athlete of the Week and senior guard Mitch Pelissier has left his mark on the CUC basketball program, as he currently ranks fifth on the all-time scoring list with 1,5178 career points. During his last four games, he has scored 23 points or more and has combined for 115 points. Averaging 23.0 points per game, he is currently first in the NACC and ranks 17th nationally among Division III basketball.
Aren't You Glad?... Through 13 collegiate basketball games, Chicago native and freshman Landen Gladney has made his presence known across the NCAA. With 13 games under his belt, he has recorded double-digit rebounds in 12 games and has 11 double-doubles on the season. Gladney is ranked third in the nation for total double-doubles and sixth for rebounds per game (12.5). He is also 11th in the country with 163 total boards.
Around the Horn... In the NACC, the Cougars are first among scoring offenses, averaging 88.0 points per game. CUC's points per game average is also good for 22nd, out of 416 teams, across Division III basketball. CUC also stands 66th in the nation, averaging 29.31 defensive rebounds per game.
