Cougars Fall To Rival Concordia Wisconsin In MLC Matchup

River Forest, Ill.- Concordia Chicago capped off a modified three game homestand against rival Concordia Wisconsin this afternoon.  After a cancellation against Carroll University on Wednesday, the Cougars stayed home to prepare for the Falcons.  From start to finish, the Falcons applied great pressure on the offensive end and were able to beat the Cougars 18-1.

In the first quarter, both teams started off a bit slow letting the game come to them.  Four minutes in though, the Falcons started to amp the pressure on the attack and leave their mark.  They scored six straight goals to take a 6-0 lead after one quarter of play.

The second quarter was much of the same, but Concordia Wisconsin was putting more pressure on the Cougars defense than the first quarter.  The Falcons doubled their lead midway through the quarter to take a commanding 12-0 lead.  Hunter Combe had two good scoring opportunities, but the Falcons goalkeeper made both saves.  CUW added two more goals late and took a 14-0 lead into halftime.

The second half was more of a slow paced game with CUW out in front by a good margin.  Jordan Loeffler got the Cougars on the board late for his seventh of the season, but the Falcons scored four more goals throughout the second half to go on to win by the final of 18-1.

Concordia-Chicago (1-12, 0-6 MLC) returns to action Saturday when they travel to Beloit, Wis. to take on Beloit College.  Face-off is set for 4:00pm.
