River Forest, Ill. – The Concordia University Chicago basketball programs host their first double header of the season on November 27
th and it will be a special night. CUC will be hosting "When I'm 64 Night". The Cougar men will open the night, taking on Marian at 5:00pm, with the Cougar women taking on Concordia University Wisconsin at 7:15.
Head women's basketball coach
Lauren Rosengarden's father spent several years of his childhood raised in foster care homes in the Chicagoland area. Junior
Crystal Corr and her sister also spent a majority of their childhood being cared for in foster homes. Through the organization, CHASI (Children's Care and Aid), the Corr sisters were adopted and found their forever homes in 2007.
Sadly, coach Rosengarden's father passed away on December 27
th, 2017, eleven months shy of his 64
th birthday. Obsessed with The Beatles, Leo's goal was to make it to 64 years of life based on the Beatles song, "When I'm 64."
The night will mesh Leo's 64
th birthday, November 27, 1954, with the childhood experiences that both Leo and Crystal shared. CUC is going to make the night of November 27
th an evening to remember while supporting CHASI.
Both games will have a variety of fun ways to donate and support the cause. Raffles, auction items, a Nintendo 64 Mario card race, and 1 dollar half-court shot attempts will happen throughout the night, will all of the proceeds being donated to CHASI.
Donations will also be accepted via cash, check (payable to CUC WBB) or direct
here.
