Chicago, Ill. – Playing one final road game before the home opener on Saturday afternoon, the Concordia University Chicago Women's Basketball team traveled into the city tonight to take on the North Park Vikings. North Park got their offense going early, and the Cougars could not get enough going to make a comeback, falling by a 75-52 final score.

- Sam Bloom led the team with 14 points, the third time she has recorded double-digit points this season.
- Crystal Corr had her second double-digit rebounding night with 11.
- CUC struggled with 27 turnovers on the night.
- North Park scored 42 points in the paint.
- North Park also had 41 bench points on the night.
In the first quarter, the Vikings quickly jumped out to a 6-0 lead. Corr ended the run with a layup, with the assist from Bloom. North Park then built their lead to double-digits midway through the quarter. Back-to-back threes by
McKayla Tilton got CUC back within 13-9 with 2:18 remaining in the quarter. North Park then closed the quarter on a 6-2 run to take an 19-11 lead after one quarter.
The second quarter started slowly for both teams, with just five points being scored in the first four minutes of play. North Park got their offense going in the quarter, building their lead to 40-21 at the half.
North Park then opened the second half on a 14-0 run, which was finally stopped on a
Michaela Thornton layup with 3:09 remaining. The Vikings led 61-33 after three quarters.
The Cougars opened the fourth quarter with a 6-2 run powered a pair of Bloom free throws, a Corr layup and an
Annika Rae layup. Unfortunately for the Cougars they were not able to gain any momentum in the fourth quarter, ultimately falling by a final score of 75-52.
CUC will be back in action on Saturday afternoon when they host Marian University. Opening tip is set for 2:00pm from River Forest.
