Game Notes: Cougars Welcome Loras to Geiseman for Season Opener

River Forest, Ill. - Looking to kick off the season off on a high note, the Concordia University Chicago Men's Basketball team welcomes Loras College into Geiseman tonight for the season opening non-conference matchup. Randy Rogers has a sizeable squad this year of 30 players, with around 20 dressing for the varsity game. Three returning starters lead the Cougars into action tonight - forward and NACC Freshman Player of the Year Jarek Hotwagner, and junior guards Mitch Pelissier (last year's leading scorer at 18.1 ppg) and Israel Dosie. Some early injuries may delay the return of a few players, but Rogers is building some serious depth as the Cougars get ready for an always challenging schedule. That includes conference, as CUC kicks that off Tuesday night when they travel to Aurora.

Loras comes into Geiseman after opening their season on Wednesday with a three-point win at Lake Forest. The Duhawks averaged 88.9 points per game last year and were co-champions of the Iowa Conference. Loras returns three starters from that team, along with a well-balanced scoring attack.
