April 10, 2016Â - After playing multiple home games in a row, the Concordia University Chicago Cougars would take to the road this evening for a Midwest Lacrosse Conference matchup. The bus let them off in Mount Vernon, Iowa, where they would take on the Cornell College Rams. The Rams used a consistent and constant attack to take down the Cougars by a final score of 19-0.
CUC played very strong defense to start the game in the first quarter.
Noah Bachofen (Franklin, WI, Franklin) would make six straight saves to start the match to keep the home Rams off of the scoreboard. Cornell got their first goal to go in just over midway through the first quarter, and never looked back in the contest. They would net two more goals in the first quarter and would put the game out of reach with a six-goal second quarter.
Cornell continued to dominate the match with 10 more goals in the second half.
Cal Crawford (Stillwater, MN, Cretin-Derham Hall) would lead the team in shots with nine for the match. Bachofen faced a barrage of shots in the match and still recorded 25 saves in the match.Â
The Cougars will come back home on Wednesday when they will take on Benedictine University from Concordia Stadium. Opening faceoff for the Midwest Lacrosse Conference matchup is set for 4:00p.m.
