March 9, 2016 -Â A difficult 24 hour-stretch for the Concordia-Chicago men's lacrosse team ended with a 24-1 loss to St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA this afternoon. The loss sent the Cougars back home with a record of 0-4 on the young season.
Like Methodist University the day before, St. Vincent came out strong and jumped on CUC early. The Bearcats opened the scoring just 44 seconds from the opening faceoff and built up a 5-0 lead after one quarter. St. Vincent then turned up the firepower a couple of notches in the second and scored nine straight goals. But Concordia-Chicago got on the scoreboard just 14 seconds before halftime asÂ
Jordan Loeffler (Orland Hills, IL/Sandburg)Â beat the SVC goalie to make the halftime score Bearcats 14, Cougars 1.
The home team stayed strong in the second half, scoring five times in both the third and fourth quarters. St. Vincent outshot CUC 65-12 and kept goalieÂ
Noah Bachofen (Franklin, WI/H.S.)Â busy as the freshman made 23 saves.
Cocnordia-Chicago will return home before going back out on the road on March 19 for a game at Trine University.
