Thomas Ruppert, ’67, lettered in basketball and baseball for four years. Ruppert was the captain of the basketball team during the 1966-67 season. He played on the NCAA All-Tournament team in 1967 and was named as the CIT Most Valuable Player for the 1966-67 season. Upon graduation, he held all the top rebounding records at Concordia for an individual in a game, season, and career.

            
After leaving Concordia, Ruppert continued to play in church basketball for 14 years. He has served as the athletic director and basketball coach at Concordia Lutheran School in Peoria, Illinois for 35 years.
