Debra (Lemke) McDonnell, ’83, lettered in volleyball and basketball for four seasons. Her field goal percentage of .503, set in the 1981-82 season, remains as the single-year standard. McDonnell earned NIIC All-Scholastic and multiple all-conference honors in both sports and, in her senior year, received the A.W. Gross Senior-Scholar award.
McDonnell, who earned her B.A. in education, began her teaching career at Valley Lutheran High School in St. Charles, Illinois. Since 1989, she has taught math and coached volleyball at Lutheran West High School in Ohio. McDonnell has been honored with the Kiwanis Outstanding Educator award and has been included in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.
