Barbara (Wilde) McComas, ’67, was a member of the field hockey, volleyball, basketball and softball teams for four years while attending Concordia.
After graduating from Concordia Teachers College, she headed to Baton Rouge, Louisiana where she taught for five years at First Lutheran School. She moved on to Topeka, Kansas where she taught for 30 years and coached volleyball, basketball and track for 15 years at Topeka Lutheran School.
In her spare time, McComas served as the Stephen Ministry Leader at Faith Lutheran Church of Topeka. She also found time to take an active role as the chair for the Board of Directors for the Kansas District Stewardship and Caring ministry.
McComas passed away on Oct. 8, 2012.
