Nick Skala (Long Grove, Ill.) of the baseball team is honored for the week of April 11-17.

Skala hit three homers and a triple while driving in seven runs in Concordia baseball’s 17-1 and 11-1 wins over Marian University April 17. Two of Skala’s homers came in game two, the final one coming with one out in the seventh and giving Concordia the win by way of the 10-run rule. Skala also threw out a runner attempting to steal second and retrieved a wild pitch, throwing to the pitcher covering home plate to tag out the runner.

Skala, the son of Joe and Donna Skala, is a 2008 graduate of St. Viator High School in Arlington Heights, Ill. He is a junior physical education major.
