Abby Pierce (Clinton Township, MI) of the track and field team is honored for the week of May 2-8.

Pierce won the championship in the women’s discus at the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Outdoor Championships on May 7. Sitting in fourth place approaching her final throw, Pierce uncorked a throw of 127’ 0” which topped her closest competition by 15 inches. Pierce also captured fourth place in the hammer throw with a mark of 139’ 9”.

Pierce, the daughter of David and Diane Pierce, is a 2012 graduate of Lutheran High School Northwest of Rochester Hills, MI. She is a senior exercise science major.
