Feb. 14, 2012 – Concordia University Chicago's
Bobbie May (Sandusky, MI/H.S.) has been named the Northern Athletics Conference Student-Athlete of the Week in women's basketball for Feb. 6-12.
May, the Cougars' senior point guard, averaged 17.5 points in the team's two games last week. She led the Cougars with 18 points and four assists in a 61-50 win over the Milwaukee School of Engineering Feb. 11. The victory enabled Concordia to claim a berth in the Northern Athletics Conference tournament Feb. 21-25.
“Bobbie really did it all for us in the MSOE game,” said
Joshua Steffen, Concordia-Chicago head women's basketball coach. “She shot well from the field (4-7) and the free throw line (10-11). She took care of the ball and also played a big role in our defensive game plan. That type of leadership is needed in winning big games, and Bobbie gave us just what we needed.”
