Oct. 2, 2012 - The Concordia Cougar women's tennis team's 2012 season came to an end this afternoon on the home courts with a 7-2 loss to non-conference rival Elmhurst College.

Deanna Richardson (Bellwood, IL/Walther Lutheran) had a hand in both of Concordia's points. She teamed with Abby Matayka (Arlington Heights, IL/Rolling Meadows) at first doubles for an exciting 8-6 victory over Nicole Darga and Brittany Kuehn. Richardson and Annie Duggan battled through a long and tense match at first singles before the Cougar sophomore emerged victorious in a third-set tiebreaker (6-4, 6-7 and 10-6).

Richardson finished the year with a 10-3 record in singles and 9-5 record with Matayka in doubles. The Cougars finished with a 1-13 record overall, 1-10 in the Northern Athletics Conference.
