The Concordia women's tennis team dropped their second straight match following Tuesday's win over Rockford. A short-handed Cougar team fell 6-3 to visiting Mount Mary College in non-conference play.
The top of the lineup produced all of the Cougars' points.
Deanna Richardson (Bellwood, IL/Walther Lutheran) shut out her first singles opponent Briana Lock by 6-0, 6-0 scores. The same was true at second singles with
Abby Matayka (Arlington Heights, IL/Rolling Meadows) defeating Katelyn Reuter. However, the Cougars lost at third, fourth and fifth flights and did not have a player available to compete at sixth.
In doubles play, Richardson and Matayka had an easy time at first, beating Carol Guillen and Brooke Slamka 8-1. However, the second team of
Kristy Heimsoth (Milwaukee, WI/Martin Luther) and
Molly Maas (Pewaukee, WI/H.S.) lost 8-2 while the Blue Angels also earned the forfeit point at third doubles.
The Cougars compelte the regular season on Tuesday when they host Elmhurst College.
